Meet Michelle
Michelle has focused on achieving transformative learning and outcomes-based development with individuals, teams and groups for the whole of her professional career.
One of Michelle’s signature strengths is fostering shoulder to shoulder reflection that focuses on creating deep learning poised towards transformation, action and results. Using a systemic lens, she has supported leading in the private, non-profit and public sectors.
In each engagement, Michelle leverages her dedication to learning and development to meet the needs of wide range of people, teams and organizations.

Professional Background
Michelle is a leader in education and received her PhD in curriculum, teaching and learning from the University of Calgary. Her doctoral work focused on researching philosophical, historical and theological ancestries of the image and the word to create innovative, and inclusive, literacy learning for students.
Michelle was a recipient of an Alberta Education Excellence in Teaching Award. She also received a Province of Alberta Graduate Fellowship and the Alberta Teachers’ Association also honoured her for exemplary work in teaching and learning. She was selected for a doctoral fellowship with the Galileo Educational Network.
Michelle has worked as a leader, an executive coach, a team coach supervisor, a coach supervisor, a group coaching supervisor, a professional learning specialist, a presenter, a teacher, a university professor, a researcher, a mentor coach and a facilitator.
She is one of the 4% of coaches who holds a Master Certified Coach accreditation with the International Coaching Federation and is one of the first accredited coach supervisors in Canada. Michelle is a team coach with certification in Systemic Team Coaching and Complex Adaptive Systems Coaching. She is an accredited team coach supervisor as well.
Michelle completed the Developing Self as Group Supervisor certification from the Coaching Supervision Academy in 2022. She was a faculty member of the Global Team Coaching Institute in 2021 and 2022.
As an alumna of the University of Calgary, University of Regina, the Alberta College of Art, the Banff School of Fine Arts, Mount Royal College, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Royal Roads University and the Coach Supervision Academy, Michelle has had the privilege of weaving the learnings of many wise, and exemplary, teachers and mentors into the fabric of her work.
Michelle holds certifications in Conversational Intelligence, Retirement Coaching and has achieved advanced training in conflict resolution as well as completing the National Introductory Mediation Course offered by the ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Institute of Canada. In 2022, she completed the Harvard Law School Executive Education Program on Negotiation and Leadership and Harvard Law School Executive Education Program – Difficult Conversations – How to Discuss What Matters Most course as well as the ‘Difficult Conversations’ course.
On a Personal Note
Michelle is dedicated to active and creative pursuits and the resourcing that these activities offer.
She is an author, an artist and a photographer.
Her home, in the Rocky Mountains of Canada, is a source of constant inspiration. The frequent presence of deer, elk, bears, bald eagles, hawks and grouse, as well as the wonder of the four seasons, is key to her creativity, energy and thriving.
Michelle is dedicated to her family, her Chocolate Labrador Retrievers and her German Shepard Husky.
You will find Michelle walking in the mountains with her dogs daily. Even when in the midst of the very cold and snowy Canadian winters.
